Ready for Summer Eatin'

It is time for summer to come, and I am all set for nice weather to be here. Mom and Dad have been preparing me with summer foods. In the past few weeks, I have tried all sorts of main dishes: hamburgers, french fries, popcorn, and dad grilled brats for me a couple of days ago. I have also tried chocolate chip cookies and ice cream. In fact, two of my most common words are "cookie" and "ice cream" - they are true ambrosia. I woke up from a nap a couple of days ago and the first words I uttered were ice cream. I have decided, however; that marshmellows were only tasty on Easter and are no longer appealing.

Ice cream is most fun when eaten from a cone; however, you have to be careful. I am finding experience means a lot when enjoying ice cream. New to the ice cream eating arena, I found out the hard way that when one's ice cream is already melty it is not a good idea to take a bite out of the bottom of the ice cream cone. That just results runny ice cream in your lap, which occurred slightly before the above picture was taken.

I had homemade chocolate chip cookies courtesy of Mom a couple of weeks ago, and they are a delicacy I must enjoy more often. I prefer to have cookies with breakfast and for dinner, but Mom and Dad don't seem to agree. Dad told me of a mythical sandwhich where ice cream is placed between two cookies. Something that wonderful sounds too good to be true; I'll have to see it before I believe it. Dad is not always right, I am finding...plus he is a liar.

We stopped for coffee and doughnuts this weekend; however, I was denied coffee. As a benevolent overlord, I have capitulated and decided "coffee", or "foffee" as I like to pronounce it, is one of a handful of "Daddy juices" that I don't need at this time. Despite the lack of coffee, I did have a two doughnut holes this weekend. I got to try a regular and powdered sugar cover doughnut hole. I really liked the powdered sugar doughnut hole; the other one just seemed plain without the sugar.

But, I am not all about sweets; I have a figure to maintain. The coming of summer means fresh fruits and more blueberries...MMMM!

The Easter Bunny Cometh

Easter came and went and I had a good haul. Lots of visitors (family and deer) and food...ham, potatos, and two kinds of Jell-O! I've already proudly eaten through one of the containers of Jell-O, and sadly almost done with the second. I even had Monday off from school. Truly, a great weekend indeed.

The most fun with Easter was the Easter Egg hunt. In the few minutes I spent upstairs entertaining Grandma and Grandpa, the Easter Bunny came and went. By the time I got back down stairs, there was a trail of pastel colored Easter Eggs throughout the house. They lead me to a bounty of presents and marshmellows.

One of my favorite activities at school is slicing. On my daily report card it says I spent the day slicing vegetables. Envisioning a not quite 2 year old wielding a knife and cutting into vegetables, father inquired as to my activities. Mom and dad were relieved to discover it was actually wooden toys held together by velcro.

Enter Sandman

These are my friends, Green and Blue; Green is the short one on the left and Blue is the tall one on the right. The last thing I do each night is say "Good night" to Green and Blue as I turn them on and likewise, the first thing I do each morning is say "Good Morning" to each. Lately, however, I've just been waking up asking for a cracker. They watch over me while I sleep and have been such good friends some days, I have taken them with me as I roam about the house.

Who does this? Who takes pictures of someone while they are sleeping? There I am, trying to get my hard earned sleep and someone keeps sneaking in my room and snapping pictures. Do you have any idea how hard it is to fall asleep when all of a sudden camera's start flashing like an out of control strobe light? Anyway, here are some "action" shots of me sleeping:

I don't know why this is funny...so what if I snore?

Hard to believe that I don't like have bright lights shine on me when I am trying to take a nap.

Despite any impressions I may leave on Mom and Dad, I actually really enjoy going to bed. Sometimes, it's nice to finally have a minute to two myself. Whether, I am about to go to sleep or just waking up, singing is one of my favorite activities to do when I have time to myself. No need to adjust your monitors, because of the darkness, there isn't really any video...just soothing sounds of my melodious voice crooning myself to sleep.

Off to never-never land...night night.

Technical Difficulties

Hi - just a quick note. Sorry, for the delay on the postings on my daily activities. My writing and production staff have been preoccupied with other issues and haven't had a chance to make any updates.

I have been very busy, my vocabulary is growing rapidly, and I just got done with a very successful season of Tiny Tumblers.

Neverfear, however, there will be lots to report, hopefully very shortly.

Animal Crackers in My Soup

Luckily, there were no lions or tigers doing a loopy-do-loop. One of my favorite presents I received for Christmas is a kitchen set of pots and pans. I entertain myself for minutes on end pouring water from one dish to another. I've also really come to enjoy all kinds of crackers - dinner crackers, animal crackers, and now, most of all, graham crackers.

I can't emphasize enough my new found love for graham crackers. It seems that all of the world's problems can be solved with a graham cracker. The only issue I have come across is that I can't seem to get my hands on them fast enough.

I did not find this humorous at all...

Not everything this week went smoothly, however. I accidentally dropped the F-bomb for the first time in front of mom last weekend. She was mortified; it just kind of slipped out in casual conversation. I didn't realize she was so opposed to the word. Suprisingly, Dad thought it was funny when I pointed at the TV and yelled out "Football."

Basket Rides and Other Indoor Activities

Peeps be askin', "Spencer, how do you pass the time?", "What do you for fun" or to "chillax", if you will. Well, I've recently been actively participating in a number of indoor activities to help pass the time. Perhaps, one of my favorite activities are laundry basket rides. Dad ties a belt around the the handle of a laundry basket and pulls me around the race track in the house. I like them a lot; I have been known to demand one ride after another and another and another until I have run him into the ground. They are the most fun when the basket is full of friends, a blanket (aka, "bye") and as many puppies as possible.

Another favorite activity of mine is hiding from Mom and Dad. At first it was pretty simple, I would just hide and then jump out and say boo...

Since my outdoor home is inaccessible due to the snow, I have decided to annex all of the closets in the house as my own personal space. Be careful because I will ferociously defend my territory. I have been known to yell out "No" if I sense so much as an eye monitoring my activity and then will run and push anyone in the thighs until they leave the room. I stuff the closets full of my friends and just try to hang out the best I can.

What I do in the closet is my business, but sometimes I just break out into song...

I've even taken hiding on the stairs...

My other great find is piggy back rides. If an unsuspecting victim is sitting on the floor, I have been known to jump them from behind, wrap my arms around their neck and demand to be paraded around the house like an Egyptian pharaoh.

I also discovered, Mom and Dad purchased a backpack-esque contracption to carry me around. That is also a lot of fun. Just as Yoda rode Luke's back while training him in the swamps of Dagobah, I rest on dad's shoulders as he parades us around the house...giggling all the way.

Snow is Cold

You know what? Snow is cold. It's really cold. Especially when you fall face first into a snowbank. Someone giggling at your stinging, snow covered face doesn't exactly make you feel any better, either. Even though snow can be a lot of fun, a lot of snow does not equate to a lot of fun. The good news, is so far, I have been able to avoid the yellow snow.

Our 15 inch blizzard from a couple of weeks ago was followed up with two more 4 inch snowfalls. Good thing Mom and Dad got me my own snow shovel for Christmas! I get them a new TV and Blu-ray player - they get me a snow shovel and broom with dust pan. What the deal? Dad and I spent a lot of the Christmas weekend shoveling. It was lot of work - but we made it through.

I like going out and inspecting the snow progress; although, I am running out of places to put snow in the backyard. I can't even make to my own car or house.

You know what's not funny? Being involuntary placed waste deep into a snowbank - not once, but twice! Ooh this was not funny. Immediately afterwards, I fell face first into the snowbank. Thankfully for myself, it was not caught on tape, because my reaction was less than pleased.

Sitting in a snowbank isn't so awful if someone does it with you. Dad and I took a break and sat in the snow together. Ahh, there is nothing quite like a good sit. This is the only evidence of Big Butt and Little Butt taking resting.

It's not all work though, snow can be fun, too.

Snow is fun to play with too! Mom brought some inside for me to try out.
