Ready for Summer Eatin'

It is time for summer to come, and I am all set for nice weather to be here. Mom and Dad have been preparing me with summer foods. In the past few weeks, I have tried all sorts of main dishes: hamburgers, french fries, popcorn, and dad grilled brats for me a couple of days ago. I have also tried chocolate chip cookies and ice cream. In fact, two of my most common words are "cookie" and "ice cream" - they are true ambrosia. I woke up from a nap a couple of days ago and the first words I uttered were ice cream. I have decided, however; that marshmellows were only tasty on Easter and are no longer appealing.

Ice cream is most fun when eaten from a cone; however, you have to be careful. I am finding experience means a lot when enjoying ice cream. New to the ice cream eating arena, I found out the hard way that when one's ice cream is already melty it is not a good idea to take a bite out of the bottom of the ice cream cone. That just results runny ice cream in your lap, which occurred slightly before the above picture was taken.

I had homemade chocolate chip cookies courtesy of Mom a couple of weeks ago, and they are a delicacy I must enjoy more often. I prefer to have cookies with breakfast and for dinner, but Mom and Dad don't seem to agree. Dad told me of a mythical sandwhich where ice cream is placed between two cookies. Something that wonderful sounds too good to be true; I'll have to see it before I believe it. Dad is not always right, I am finding...plus he is a liar.

We stopped for coffee and doughnuts this weekend; however, I was denied coffee. As a benevolent overlord, I have capitulated and decided "coffee", or "foffee" as I like to pronounce it, is one of a handful of "Daddy juices" that I don't need at this time. Despite the lack of coffee, I did have a two doughnut holes this weekend. I got to try a regular and powdered sugar cover doughnut hole. I really liked the powdered sugar doughnut hole; the other one just seemed plain without the sugar.

But, I am not all about sweets; I have a figure to maintain. The coming of summer means fresh fruits and more blueberries...MMMM!
