Fun With Woy

So, Mom and Dad snuck out and went on vacation for a week. They went to Hawaii and I got to spend the week with Grandma and Grandpa. Clearly, I came out ahead on that end of the bargain. We had a good time playing; I got to go out in the snow for the first time.

I turned 18 months old Friday and oh my the changes this week. I had teeth #13 on Monday and #14 on Friday come in. Both incisors, Monday's on my bottom left and Friday's on my bottom right. Now, I am able to tear into flesh more easily. Mmm, Steak, ribs, and pork chops. Bring on the meat! Thursday, I enjoyed my first bites of Pumpkin Pie. Mmm...mmm; that's good eatin'. I've really come to like
pumpkin foods. In fact, there has been a unacceptably low level of pumpkin cookies around lately. Friday, I had Macaroni and Cheese for the first time, the spiral kind, of course. Dad said it's the best kind. I also had some pizza for dinner.

One of my great new fun finds are the joys of playing in water, or as I like to call it "Woy". My teacher at daycare says I have the cleanest hands in the room because I insist on washing my hands so often. It's also quickly become my favorite activity to do while I wait for Mom and Dad to make me dinner. I spend about 15-20 minutes on some evenings splashing in the sink. I am also drinking woy out of cup, now; the days of sippy cups are winding down. I still get a little on me, but I am getting better and better every day maneuvering the cup.

Perhaps, the best part of woy is swimming. I just finished up my first session of water babies. It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed getting into the water. We worked on splashing, floating on our stomachs and backs, blowing bubbles and kicking. I also practiced jumping in and out of the water.

It was very tiring, though; one 25 minute class was usually followed up by a 2 hour nap by myself and Mom and Dad. More exhausting than any of us would have thought.

Boo!

It was quite a Happy Halloween. Technically, it was my second Halloween, but this was the first time I am able to participate at full force. After much ballyhoo and debate, I went as a duck. My second favorite choice was a pumpkin. I waged a successful protest against my parents choice as a rabbit. I visited about 4-5 neighbors and got some Teddy Grahms from my buddy, Ed. Overall, it was a goodtime.

The Halloween festivities actually started a couple of weeks ago when I chose my pumpkin.

I spent the day before Halloween helping mom and dad carve the pumpkin. As you can see, I was very instrumental in the cleaning and sculpting of the pumpkin.

After cleaning the pumpkin, I helped mom carve the pumpkin and shape the mouth.

After all my hard work, I decided we were done, put the top on the pumpkin and put the tools away.

And my of my piece de resistance...
